Print Page About the 23 Voyager

The 23 Voyager is a fully enclosed walk-around center cabin providing all the conveniences of a center console with the weather protection comforts of a full cabin. The pilothouse seats two adults, stands three and has 6’4” headroom. One of the nice features about this center cabin walk-around is that when you exit the pilothouse you are standing on the cockpit floor, with easy access to all areas of the boat and surrounded by a deck coaming that is 22″ high. Strategically placed grab rails allow you to walk forward or aft and always be within reach of a strong safe holding spot. The cabin has great ventilation, both the front and rear windows open, the doors open 20″ wide and there is a roof hatch that blows air directly behind your head when underway. Additionally, there are two opening side ports in the cuddy and the rooftop has graceful overhangs all around for sun and rain protection.

Commercial Grade Pilothouse Protection

Inside the pilothouse you’ll be quietly protected from the elements, especially when the doors and rear window are closed. To enhance daytime visibility, the dash is coated with a flat finish to reduce glare onto the windows. For improved nighttime clarity, all windows are tint free. The dash has an electronics gauge pod, a chart table to port, a fiddle to prevent items from sliding off the dash and a crewmember grab rail.

Overhead there’s a convenient radio box containing the wiper and electrical switch panels. Aft on the overhead is a handy shelf for small gear, such as flares and first aid kits. Red/White dome lights are located in the pilothouse and cuddy.

The Voyager is equipped with two-speed, self-parking, full-sweep windshield wipers. They have high quality pantograph arms and blades that are of maximum length to clear as much glass as possible. Good wipers and a tight pilothouse make those rainy days enjoyable boating days.

What makes the Voyager unique is the design and quality of its sliding side entry doors. They are all-welded aluminum, insulated, powder coated white, have “easy grab” outside handrails and a partial lock-open feature that permits the doors to be cracked open 3″. It’s not uncommon to “crack” the leeward door for ventilation even in the rain. Both doors are lockable for exceptional security. With the Voyager there is no need to snap and unsnap canvas curtains. When you leave this boat for the day, you simply lock the doors.

Storage and Seats

You’ll find plenty of storage about the decks on the Voyager. The bow platform, in addition to serving as an excellent elevated casting deck, also provides plenty of room for anchors, dock lines, tool boxes, water jugs and other gear. This compartment is accessed through a scuppered lockable hatch and drains aft on the cockpit floor. For added seating comfort, there is an optional bow platform cushion. Just aft of the bow platform is the console front seat which comfortably seats two people.

Located in the rear cockpit behind the center cabin is a functional Tackle Station complete with louvered doors and stainless locksets. Extremely handy for storing fishing lures, pliers, gloves, etc. the compartment is large enough to accommodate three 5 gallon buckets or a small cooler.
