The good looks of the 23 Classic are built around an all composite hull, deck and grid system, in fact there is no wood in any of our Maritimes. The foam filled grid and compartments beneath the floor not only make the boat “unsinkable” but also add stiffness and dampen hull noise. While some manufacturers choose not to incorporate flotation characteristics mandatory in smaller boats to their larger models, all Maritime boats, regardless of length are built to the highest safety levels utilizing closed celled foam floatation to provide “unsinkable” safety and security for you and your family.

Similar to the Challenger all the deck hardware on the Classic is heavy-duty 316 stainless steel. Strong 10″ stainless deck cleats are bolted through the deck and the hull flange, resulting in an attachment system far superior to deck-only mounted hardware. Mid-ship cleats are standard as are the stainless bow bitt and its companion 6″ bow chock, both adequately sized for large mooring pendants. The wrap around bow rail is 1″ stainless and starts at 20″ high deepening to 24″ forward. Side deck width starts at 10-1/2″ and gets progressively wider as you walk toward the bow. A large anchor locker is located on the port side forward, deep enough for fender storage.
