Dry Riding, Stable and Seaworthy!
Maritime combines traditional New England looks with modern construction techniques and state-of-the-art bottom designs. These wide-beamed, unsinkable boats are easily maintained, operate efficiently with low-to-moderate-sized engines, and are convenient to rig and service.
All Maritimes have a unique hull design. The bottom has all the sea-keeping features of offshore fishing boats, including spray deflecting lift strakes, wide chines and a variable deadrise bottom. As a result, they run very flat, keeping the bow in the water, and have proven to be exceptionally seaworthy due to their rounded bows and curved transoms. You’ll see and feel these features during a test ride.
DRY RIDING, STABLE AND SEAWORTHY! HERE’S WHY:
Narrow motor cutouts reduce chances of following seas entering the boat.- Upper accent line stiffens the hull and functions as a second spray deflector.
- Boats are self-bailing at rest, without persons on board, but with normal stowed gear and consoles located in the standard position.
- Wide chines deflect spray, improve low speed performance and improve stability both on and off plane.
- Shallow 10º bottom deadrise aft (14º on the 23s) adds to stability, accounts for Maritime’s easily driven hulls and keeps drafts down to 6″-14″ depending upon model.
- Deep rugged keels add tremendous strength to the bottom, improve tracking, reduce skidding in turns and help center the hull on trailers with keel rollers.
- Rounded bows provide significantly more reserve buoyancy than pointed bows, increase interior usable space and enhance seaworthiness in steep sea conditions because the added buoyancy lifts the bow.
- Extreme flare with wide chines contributes to Maritime’s reputation as very dry boats.
- Wide waterline beam accounts for Maritime’s excellent stability when heavily loaded.
- Bow deadrise is 35-50º, depending on model. Because the hull runs flat, this vee portion of the hull remains in the water, resulting in a smooth ride.
- Lifting strakes stiffen the bottom panels, add stability when on plane and deflect spray out and away from the hull.
- Maritime hulls are strengthened internally with an all fiberglass grid system fully bonded to the all fiberglass hull for long life and dependable service.
- Our solid composite cored transoms are impervious to rot and unbelievably strong. They have never experienced a failure in the history of the company…how many boat builders can say that!
- All Maritimes are foam filled for safety, meeting or exceeding US Coast Guard and ABYC standards. Our foam also contributes to hull stiffness and sound deadening for a quieter ride.
- Maritime cockpit floors are a fiberglass-cored construction that adds to the hull’s stiffness and allows for the secure attachment of accessories. The non-skid surface provides sure footing while remaining easy to clean at the end of a long day.
- Large scuppers drain cockpit water directly through the transom. No hoses, clamps, or clogged elbows to worry about.
