The Maritime design originated with company founder Paul Hureau. A graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy and a retired Coast Guard Captain, Paul spent years with Boston Whaler, and was instrumental in the design and testing of patrol and rescue boats that saw service around the world. Those experiences had a strong influence on the hull shape, durability and seaworthiness of the first Maritimes and still guide the company today.

Maritime now offers over 20 different models from 14’ rolled edge skiffs to 25’ twin powered pilot house boats. These wide–beamed, unsinkable boats are easily maintained, operate efficiently with low to moderate sized engines and are convenient to rig and service. Of course sometimes there is a “need for speed”; with a beefed up commercial grade hull and maximum horsepower some models safely operate in the 50+ mph range. Regardless of the model, all our boats benefit from Maritime’s proven unique hull design and are built using modern construction techniques and the highest quality materials and components.
